Ok, let’s be real about filters. Some of y’all filter your pictures so much that it must be hard for people to recognize you in real life. People are going to start being disappointed when they meet you in person and realize that you don’t actually have flawless skin, floppy dog ears, or specks of glitter on your cheeks. I mean, come on. What’s the point in that anyway? We all know that you don’t really look like that. We all know that your skin is not that dewy and that you don’t have large tear-shaped eyes like the Precious Moments dolls. But I guess if it makes you feel good about yourself, then by all means, filter the crap out of your pictures. Personally, I rarely filter my pictures because I don’t want to be disappointed when I look in the mirror and realize that this is my actual face. Oh right, there’s my dry skin and double chins. There’s my yellowish teeth and lack of a tan. You can filter your pictures all you want, but you can’t filter your bathroom mirror. I just don’t want to be surprised by what I see in there. Plus, there’s no amount of filter to hide the fact that most of the time I look like I just lost a fight with a stray cat. I’d love to see what everyone looks like when they’re home in their lounge attire scrubbing the toilets or washing dirty dishes. That would probably make me feel a lot better about myself. Just to prove my point, here’s an unfiltered, unedited picture of myself. I hope it makes you feel better about yourself.
